More Carlee

I thought I would post a few more pics of Carlee from our little photoshoot last week. These are edited a bit differently than the last batch.

This child loves Hannah Montana so I had to get her these HM cupcakes. I figured she would be more cooperative if I bribed her. ;o)

So, this isn't the best photo, but it does show the whole outfit. I was seriously proud of myself for making that tutu.

I love this child. :o)

Hilary & David

This is a couple of photos from my photoshoot this weekend in Orange Beach. Hilary and David are an adorable couple and that was one of the most fun photoshoots EVER! Anna and I are still laughing at some of their antics. :o)

This was an awesome photoshoot and I have lots of great pics to choose from, so I'll be posting more later. :o)

Peace, Love, Rock & Roll, and a Little Sister

I got a wild hair last weekend and decided I wanted to make my almost-seven year old little sister a tutu. I thought it turned out so cute! Then, I found this cute black t-shirt that read "Peace, Love, and Rock & Roll" and the idea for a photoshoot was born.

So, this is my little sister, aka Carlee, aka The Baby, aka the person on this earth whom I love more than anyone else. Here are a few pics from our little impromtu photoshoot this morning. She was pretty cooperative considering it was about 300 degrees at 10:00am and the wind blowing her hair in her face was driving her crazy. LOL...nonetheless, I think I got some pretty cute shots. :o)

The Power of a Picture

Ok, so I didn't take this photo, but it still is one of my all-time favorites.

This sweet photo of my mama and papa (my grandparents) was taken roughly 40 years ago by my great-uncle, and it evokes in me a variety of emotions.

Sometimes when I look at it, I feel intrusive. It's like I'm peaking in a window and catching a glimpse of something meant to be private. They just look so content, so at peace, like they are exactly where they want to be, which is amazing since they probably had their five sons running around in the background.

Other times when I look at it I feel hopeful, because at the end of the day, that should be the picture of love. They had a calming effect on one another. If Papa was upset or mad or whatever, all Mama had to do was put her hand on his arm and her touch would immediately calm him down. They completed each other in every sense.

These days, when I look at this photo, I feel sad. My sweet papa passed away suddenly about a year and a half ago, and even after this much time has passed, I can't imagine the pain Mama feels. I imagine it's like losing part of yourself. They were together for 55 years.

I will forever be grateful that my uncle looked over one day, saw them sitting there in their own little world, and decided to pick up his camera and freeze that moment in time.

Amie & Willie

Here are a few of my favorite photos from my most recent photoshoot with my sweet friend Amie and her adorable boyfriend Willie.

We found some awesome graffiti art downtown and I was immediately dying to take some shots in front of it. I thought these two turned really cute so I decided to play around in Photoshop and do a storyboard for Amie. She loved it. :o)

This one was probably my most favorite of the shoot...just a sweet, candid shot. I processed this one in color and black & white also, but I just really liked the chocolate finish on this one.

I love pics of couples holding hands; this one was no exception. :o)

So, Amie and Willie, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to photograph such a sweet couple. I had a blast walking around downtown in the sweltering heat with you guys! :o)
